The paintings in this NEW EXHIBITION   d i s c o  d e e p  were generated from many inland working expeditions in Australia.

From the blazing white salt crust of Lake Eyre to the Ice Age memories held in the dark glacial ponds of Central Tasmania, this country is marked by its ability to carry and display the fractured memories of water.

They are in the traces and patterns in dry creek beds and claypans, in rivers that are sometimes visible, sometime fugitive, flowing in secret passages deep underground, in ephemeral lakes marked on maps by dotted lines as if wary of confirming their intermittent existence.

My concerns as an artist are to find ways into this topsy-turvy world, this abbreviated and often interrupted flow of energy.
