Gabrielle Fallon-Jones

 

Gabrielle Jones is an Australian abstract artist with an expansive exhibition history spanning 18 years. In addition to her solo exhibitions across Sydney, Melbourne and Perth and appointment as drawing instructor for the Sydney Biennale Events in 2012, Gabrielle has been awarded the Brentwood Art Prize (Acquisitive); the William Fletcher Trust Grant; and the Northbridge Art Prize. Jones has been short-listed for a number of art prizes including the the Mosman; Fleurieu Biennale; Duke Gold Coast; Muswellbrook; Paddington; Calleen; Fishers Ghost; Korea Art Foundation; as well as the Kedumba and Rick Amor Drawing Prizes. She has held two exhibitions at Grefti Cultural Projects in Italy; had a solo show at Goulburn and Gosford Regional Galleries, and will also exhibit at Muswellbrook Art Centre later in 2019.

Her work has been collected across public Australian institutions (Muswellbrook Regional Gallery, Bundanon Trust), as well as internationally by Fundacion Valparaiso, Spain and Art Scape Organisation, Toronto, and is held in private collections in London, New York, Italy, Spain, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Tahiti. Jones’s practice has seen her complete artist residencies abroad in Tahiti, Spain and Canada, as well as locally at the Tweed Regional Gallery and at Bundanon, the former home of Arthur Boyd. Her paintings have appeared in two juried publications in USA and UK in 2018. Jones completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from the National Art School in 2003.

Gabrielle was appointed drawing instructor 2012 Sydney Biennale events; curated two exhibitions at Coorah Contemporary Gallery, Blue Mountains Grammar School in 2014; won or been highly commended in a number of prizes including the William Fletcher Trust Grant; and included as a finalist Fleurieu Biennale, Portia Geach, Mosman, Norville, Muswellbrook, Calleen, St George, Duke Gold Coast; Borough of Queenscliff 150th Anniversary; Korea Australia Art Foundation and Fishers Ghost Art Awards (Three years in a row) and the Kedumba Drawing Prize. She has been commissioned for major works by Ku-ring-Gai and St George Hospitals and Alita Retirement Home Wahroonga  and Petalura Aged Care, Katoomba. Her work has been selected in curated shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, New York and Korea; and acquired by Muswellbrook Regional Gallery; and included in public and private collections in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, the Netherlands, New York, Canada, Italy and London
