Bringing home flowers and objects for arranging is one of my favourite parts of the painting process. Family life can be noisy and frantic, and I find that the moments of quiet contemplation when arranging my painting subjects and then painting my still life pieces help me to move through that noise.

The compositions of my paintings continue to reflect my search for space and stillness. The painted areas extend on to and over the sides of the canvas, stretching the composition beyond the boundaries of the painted surface. Shadows cast by objects also extend beyond the boundaries of the canvas, suggesting another world outside the edges of the painting.

My paintings depict consideration of the details in the everyday, offering endless moments of quiet and calm.
