Tracey Murray

Based in Brisbane, Tracey Murray is a self taught ceramicist who came to work with clay in 2016 after her treatment for breast cancer. Looking to find  a creative outlet that also provided a form of therapy for the side effects of the treatment, Tracey uses hand building techniques to create functional organic forms.

Working from her home studio, a Queenslander cottage in Brisbane, she draws inspiration from everyday life and the necessity to include beautiful forms to contain flowers and share food with family and friends. The piece created for AK Bellinger Gallery were inspired by Japanese forms and represent a dream to travel again.
