GILLIAN ADAMSON
GOD AND THE GOOD BOY

GILIAN ADAMSON

Adamson’s works are reflective of the times and spaces belonging to others, particularly of the generation of her Catholic grandparents. This lead to the creation of holy apparitions in the suburbs, suggesting that the simple, ordinary lives of her grandparents and their faith was enough all along.

Adamson is also exploring a suitable modern metaphor for ‘wilderness’ - in the gospels this is a place where evil lurks, devoid of

spirituality. Today, many of us see the wilderness as a place of tranquility, a place we come back from restored. Perhaps the wilderness lurks in our own backyard.
