SHOWTIME

KIM GRIVAS

SHOWTIME is a celebration of flowers, but more than that, it’s a celebration of place, people, and the deep sense of belonging that comes from working with the land.

These cut flower exhibits, gathered from a country show, reflect the heart of rural life, where growing flowers is a connection to soil, seasons, and community. Each arrangement carries the care of the gardener, the pride of the grower, and the spirit of the local show where neighbours come together to share what they’ve nurtured. As a devoted and passionate painter of flowers, I felt an irresistible urge to capture the joy presented by the talented local children and avid gardeners

Just like the still-life floral artworks of the past, these displays capture a moment in time, full of colour, scent, and the joy of creation. But they also remind us that beauty grows in gardens tended with love, in towns where traditions are kept alive, and in communities that gather each year to celebrate nature’s gifts.

This exhibition invites you to feel that connection, to the flowers, to the land, and to each other, radiating the very essence of summer, conjuring images of sun-drenched afternoons and leisurely lunches savoured amidst the beauty of the farm.

Step in, take a breath, and let the flowers do what they do best — brighten your day.
