MARINA ROLFE

Marina Rolfe is an artist based in Naarm/Melbourne (Born in Russia, 1989). She had classical art training in Moscow and is currently completing a Master of Contemporary Art at the Victorian College of the Arts. Rolfe's practice lies between representation and abstraction. Landscapes, with their organic forms, play the role of a structure; and within lies the possibility of depiction beyond representation. Rolfe draws inspiration from the immediate environment, nature, colours and textures, materials and her collaboration with them. She has had two solo shows, participated in several group shows and was awarded AG McMillen Arts Trust – Art Scholarship Award in 2021 and SBS Portrait Prize in 2019.
