TREES ARE BETTER THAN PEOPLE

​

'Trees are better than people' is an exploration of the Australian bush landscape I know & love but also of my own very personal experiences of place & memory. Experience of place isn't simply about the present moment & physical features like dirt, trees, rocks and sky. For me, I bring my past present & even ideas for the future with me on each bush walk or camping trip. I try to paint with synchronicity of what I see & feel & can't see but imagine. Since childhood I have viewed trees like company & although a little tongue in cheek, I have often concluded that they are 'better than people' . Current world situations have me believing it now more than ever.
